AFP Ltd is the leader in multifiber hermeticity especially for ROADM modules requiring large number (up to 16) fibers packaged into compact and inexpensive feedthroughs.
AFP design and manufacture lensed or laser cleaved fiber pigtails for efficiently coupling light from the laser chip into the fiber or focusing fiber output on the small detector chips. The assemblies are also widely qualified for use for SOA (Optical Amplifier), applications and mass-produced FTTH (Fiber to the home), components, such as Triplexers or Bi-Di (Bi- directional Devices).
AFP's single fiber hermetic solutions are extensively used for packaging high speed lasers and detectors, including 40Gig and 100Gig components, balanced receivers, as well as high power pump lasers for optical amplifiers.
Additionally AFP terminates and tests active components characterizing them with connectors and test protocols for local US and European markets and specializes in ‘boutique’ single and multifiber optical termination types.
