AFP
manufactures several types of fiber optical hermetic penetrators (feedthroughs)
for bulkhead connectors and downhole applications, typically for use in-well
head optical sensing.
The fiber penetrators do not use conventional O-rings, but rather use low melting point glass sealing technologies. AFP products have successfully qualified at extremely high pressures (up to 10,000 bars) and high temperatures (up to 150C) in very corrosive and rugged environments normal in deep oil wells and underwater applications.
AFP is the leader in multifiber penetrators utilizing our proprietary designs for hermetically protecting fiber transitions from high to low pressure environments.
