Fiber Metallization
Fiber metallization is usually chosen for higher volume single fiber telecom type or high optical power laser applications.
AFP supplies metallized fiber made by two proven technologies:
- PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) plating, which is a little more expensive but normally works well for development or lower volume applications
- Electroless Plating ( chemical plating process), for low cost high volume products
The fiber can be metallized at the fiber edge or in the middle of the fiber with fiber features masked, with single or dual metallization zones, with and without connector or lens.
